The FDA has announced that 14 Hydroxycut products are being voluntarily recalled by supplement company. The recall comes after 23 reports of serious liver damage, as a result of product use were filed. The damage ranged from jaundice of the liver, to death, and a liver transplant in one of the cases. The recalled products include the following:

Hydroxycut Regular Rapid Release Caplets

Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Rapid Release Caplets

Hydroxycut Hardcore Liquid Caplets

Hydroxycut Max Liquid Caplets

Hydroxycut Regular Drink Packets

Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Drink Packets

Hydroxycut Hardcore Drink Packets (Ignition Stix)

Hydroxycut Max Drink Packets

Hydroxycut Liquid Shots

Hydroxycut Hardcore RTDs (Ready-to-Drink)

Hydroxycut Max Aqua Shed

Hydroxycut 24

Hydroxycut Carb Control

Hydroxycut Natural

Hydroxycut Cleanse and Hoodia products were not on the recall list. Although the FDA has not isolated the ingredient that is causing the problem, they do know that the Hydroxycut products recalled are causing elevated liver enzymes that have lead to damage and failure. Some patients also experienced heart problems, seizures, kidney failure and severe muscle damage. Products can be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.

There are a number of different crusts you can choose when you make homemade pizza. My favorite three crusts to make pizza at home would include English muffin pizzas, flatbread pizzas and actual pizza with fresh dough. Regardless of what you crust you choose, the way you cook them is the same. You prepare your crust, add a layer of sauce and a layer of cheese. Then, you add toppings and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees. If you use regular crust you need a pizza pan or a baking sheet. The baking sheet should be coated with cooking spray. If you use English muffins or flatbreads there is no need to spray the baking sheet because they won’t stick. Making pizza at home can be fun, you can try different toppings and crusts. Plus, if you have kids they can help you prepare the pizzas and kids love to cook.

Some people are natural chefs, while others need to learn the tricks of the trade. Here are our sweet seven helpful cooking tips for any chef:

1. Chilled Onions Avoid Tears: Chill an onion in the refrigerator before cutting to avoid crying when cutting.
2. Corn Starch Thickens Sauces: If soups or sauces are runny while cooking, add corn starch or flour to the pot. It is crucial you mix the corn starch or flour with water first so its dissolved before putting in the pot. If you don’t do that, you will have lumps.
3. Fresh Apples with Citrus: No more brown apples or pears. Simply toss the cut slices with a little citrus juice.
4. Round Dishes Cook Faster in Microwaves: When cooking in the microwave, round dishes are better than square or rectangle dishes as they spread heat faster.
5. Remove Stem for Fresher Chilis: If you remove the stem from a chili before refrigerating, you will have a fresher product for longer.
6. Sugar Brightens Green Vegetables: When cooking green vegetables, add a pinch of sugar so they maintain their bright green color.
7. Use Carrots to Sweeten your Sauces: Try sweetening your sauces carrots instead of sugar. It’s healthier too!
