Heath Ledger’s Final film was screened at the recent Cannes Film Festival. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was in the final phases of filming when the Oscar winning actor passed away in January of 2008. Friends of the beloved actor stepped in to help the film’s creator Terry Gilliam complete it. Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law filmed three incarnations of Heath Ledger’s character. The film was not screened as a competitive piece at Cannes, but it was extremely well-recieved by critics.

Finally, someone is going to make feature movie depicting the life of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.. DreamWorks Studios announced this week that they have purchased the rights to MLK’s story from his estate. No stars have been cast in or rumored to be cats in the film yet, but surely they will be lining up for this role. So far, the only thing that is set is Steven Speilberg will co-produce the film. He has not made any announcements about other producers, directors or actors.

If you are one of the millions of viewers who indulges in the guilty pleasure of watching Bravo’s Real Housewives series, you are in for a real treat tonight! The night starts off with the Real Housewives of New York Reunion and let’s just say in true franchise fashion it promises to be explosive. In fact, one housewife Alex McCord told the media that the filming of the reunion took an exhausting seven hours because the ladies went from one squabble to another. 

Just when you think it is safe to turn off your TV, a new series the Real Housewives of New Jersey airs right after the fight filled New York Reunion. Critics are all a buzz about the new season, some calling it the best of the entire franchise. So, don’t forget to set your Tv to Bravo tonight so you can indulge in one of America’s guiltiest pleasures.

Miss Project Runway? Well, tonight on Bravo a clone of the show is scheduled to begin. The Fashion Show, starring Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowlands  will feature young designers hoping to win the opportunity to market and sell their own lines in a retail environment. The twist, the audience at home will pick the winner at the end of the season, but each week leading up to the finale a studio audience will be the judge. Each episode the 15 aspiring designers will compete in a mini challenge and a elimination challenge. The format is similar to another Bravo hit, Top Chef. Critics are mixed in the reviews of this show, but so far the general consensus agrees that is worth watching until Project Runway returns in August.

The film is not being pitched as a biopic, it is rumored to be more of a comedy based on Three Stooges Shorts from the 1930’s. The Farrelly brothers have been planning this project for nearly a decade, but recently settled with MGM studio for production. Shooting is not scheduled until fall 2010.

Stephen King’s iconic novel is being adapted for the big screen by screen writer Dave Kajganich, and the project is being managed by Lin Pictures and Vertigo Entertainment. Much of the story will likely remain the same, except it is reported that the big screen remake will be set in present day rather than the novel’s timeframes which were 1958 and 1985. If the success of the 1986 novel and subsequent 1990 miniseries are any indication, the big screen remake should be a huge success.

Eddie, the main character, dies in a freak accident.  He is then brought to heaven and encounters five people… five people who played a crucial role in his life, whether he knew it at the time or not.  Eddie’s journey truly reinforces the saying “Everything happens for a reason.”  

The Five People You Meet in Heaven was a New York Times Best Seller for multiple weeks.  Definitely recommended by Madame Daily.  A+!
