We all knew it was coming, but now it is confirmed. Octomom has inked a deal to star in a reality show. Nadya Suleman, otherwise known as Octomom will star in show that films special events in the children’s lives. The show will not film the children’s daily lives and will feature some camera work from Octmom herself. The show is being made by Netherlands based production company and has not yet been sold to any American television networks.
Well, people have been grumbling about it for some time now, and today the news broke that “Jon and Kate Plus 8” is being investigated to make certain the show is following all the correct child labor law protocol. Apparently, someone filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. TLC does acknowledge the investigation and says that they are fully cooperating with the investigation into “Jon and Kate Plus 8”. However, TLC also maintains that they have always fully complied with child labor laws.
Although Kate Gosselin and her husband Jon Gosselin have always referred to the show as the family job, I am not sure if it actually qualifies as a job. I know Kate Gosselin has said repeatedly that she never forces the kids to participate in the show. However, I am not on “set” when the show is shooting, so I can’t say what is going on behind the scenes. I know one thing for sure, all this drama surrounding the Gosselin family is sad.
Danielle Staub of the Real Housewives of New Jersey has been a controversial figure in the show since the series began in early May. That controversy just got taken to a whole new level after previews for the upcoming episode show Danielle Staub’s on show enemy Dina Manzo holding a book titled “Cop Without a Badge” and revealing a supposed scandal related to Danielle. Recent media reports allege that the true crime book reveals that years before Danielle Staub was on the Real Housewives of New Jersey she was involved in a drug related kidnapping and extortion theme. The book, if true reveals that Danielle got a deal and pled guilty to only the extortion charge, for which she was sentenced to five years probation. The book and media reports also allege that Danielle was a stripper and went by several other names including Beverly Merrill, Danielle Maher and Beverly Maher. If true, this would be the biggest scandal of any Real Housewives season.
Heath Ledger’s Final film was screened at the recent Cannes Film Festival. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was in the final phases of filming when the Oscar winning actor passed away in January of 2008. Friends of the beloved actor stepped in to help the film’s creator Terry Gilliam complete it. Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law filmed three incarnations of Heath Ledger’s character. The film was not screened as a competitive piece at Cannes, but it was extremely well-recieved by critics.
Jamie Pressly spilt from her long-time fiancee and the father of her child back in November. Then, this month her hit TV series My Name is Earl was cancelled. This Emmy wining actress sure knows how to rebound, new picture show Jamie Pressly with a new man recently in Mexico. The pictures show Pressly sunbathing and getting cozy in Cabo with an unidentified man. This is the first romantic link for Pressly since her spilt with Eric Cubiche in November.
If you watched American Idol at all this season you know there was a lot of buzz about contestant Adam Lambert. Adam was talented and unique, perhaps more so than any contestant that has graced the American Idol stage. Adam didn’t win the coveted title of American Idol, which left left many fans disappointed, but his opponent Kris Allen was deserving. I would have been happy with whoever won because they were both so good.
That said, after performing with Queen on the finale many were left contemplating whether Adam Lambert would be the ideal replacement for the late Freddie Mercury of Queen. In fact, members of Queen have expressed interest in Adam Lambert to the media. In my personal opinion, I feel it would be a bad move for the former Idol contestant. Though it would be an honor to front such a legendary band I think Adam has the creativity and musical talent to successfully do his own thing.
Here they go again, despite speculation of a relationship with Natalie Portman and an April separation, rumor has it that actor Sean Penn and his wife Robin Wright Penn are back on. This would be the second time Sean Penn filed for separation from his longtime wife only to retract a short time later. The last time they separated in 2007 it took them a mere four months to reconnect, this time it took just a few short weeks. Sean Penn filed for separation on April 24th, but has now withdrawn those papers from the California courts. Hopefully this longtime pair can work it out.
The countdown to the Jon and Kate Plus Eight premier is on, with the new season just days away the world is waiting to tune and see what happens with reality TV’s favorite family. The show has long been a ratings giant, but the Memorial Day premier promises to yield some of the biggest ratings yet as people tune into see if they show the recent marital struggles or not. Previews of the show have been airing on TLC for the past few days and show the couple talking separately about their problems. Are the promotions the usual hype or will we actually see reality this year on Jon and Kate Plus Eight? One could hope they would get past all the extravagances of recent seasons and get back to the day to day life episodes that made the show so popular. Personally, my favorite episodes are the ones in which Kate is cooking and Jon is tending the kids etc.. I like to see the relatable things, maybe I am the only one, but the recent seasons have lost me a bit.
Teen hearts everywhere may break if this next rumor is true. Insiders close to both Chris Pine and Audrina Patridge say the two have been an item for several weeks. Audrina Patridge stars on the hit Mtv reality series The Hills and Chris Pine plays Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie. The pair met a ShoWest in Las Vegas when they were both there to receive awards. The couple was spotted dinning in Los Angeles Friday and other reports have placed her at Pine’s apartment building on numerous occasions.
Finally, someone is going to make feature movie depicting the life of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.. DreamWorks Studios announced this week that they have purchased the rights to MLK’s story from his estate. No stars have been cast in or rumored to be cats in the film yet, but surely they will be lining up for this role. So far, the only thing that is set is Steven Speilberg will co-produce the film. He has not made any announcements about other producers, directors or actors.
